This is the third and final part of our three part series on important Social Media Marketing trends that will be happening in 2019, but more importantly it is a series that gives you some good advice on how your business, together with your Digital and S.M Marketing experts, will be able to take advantage of these trends to maximize your Ad spend and build your brand in the new year.
For those who may have missed the first 2 parts – in Part 1 we mentioned ‘live video,’ ‘Personalized messaging’ and ‘Artificial Intelligence’ (or A.I.) as three of the major trends that will greatly change the face of online marketing next year.
In part 2 we spoke about the predicted trending in 2019 of Chatbots – an offshoot of A.I – ‘Influencers’ who will be even more influential than ever and ‘Programmatic advertising’ which will give you even more effective reach. Now let’s look at a few more S.M Marketing trends that could give you the edge in 2019!
Social messaging apps
We tend to think of social media as people just chatting and especially of apps like ‘What’s App’ as being really just social chit chat. A growing trend however is for marketers to be utilizing and building brands through these applications and even established ‘social chat’ platforms like Facebook, through Facebook ‘messenger,’ have boosted this growing trend.
Startling statistics like 55 billion messages sent via WhatsApp every day and the fact that WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and WeChat have more combined users than Facebook or YouTube – are the reason big business have turned to this medium to relay their marketing messages – a trend that will keep growing in 2019.
‘Stories’ will tell more business stories next year
Snapchat were the first to come out with the concept of “My Story.” Instagram and Facebook soon followed suit and now YouTube has unveiled ‘Reels,’ their own story format. Businesses, more than ever in 2019, will be looking to use this popular format to tell their own stories.
As a brand you can feature your employees in the stories, show the story behind the making of a product, or possibly ask for reviews about your products and services. The applications are numerous and the opportunities to get really creative endless!
Audio applications
Audio applications like Voice search and Smart speakers, also manifestations of Artificial Intelligence (A.I), will see more companies produce audio content in the hopes of gaining brand awareness in 2019 and ads are likely to come in soon!
Many brands have included Voice search in their Digital Marketing strategies to deliver value-based content effectively to their customers – and of 39 million Americans using Smart speakers, 65% of them say they wouldn’t want to go back to not using this amazing voice-controlled assistant.
